Crisp Night Air

Only two more days until Windows in the Loft is released through Amazon! I find inspiration in memories I have of so many pack trips…this is a shot of a sunset on one of those trips high in the Colorado mountains. Smell the crisp night air that had you looking for your long sleeved shirt in late July. Heaven.

Windmills and Windows in the Loft

Looking down from the top of the windmill at the water tanks and the little pond that forms when they overflow and it makes a neat pattern. With only three more days until Windows in the Loft is released in e-book form, I think about Isa Torunn, the main character and how she would totally have loved this view.

an egg

Walking down to the windmill the other day and I came across this egg on the trail road. It had been left in a hurry and I couldn’t resist picking it up to bring home, knowing it wouldn’t hatch now anyway. I don’t know what sort of bird it would have been.
Life is so fragile; you have to live it as best you can every day! Take courage to do all that you can even when others tell you that you can’t.

Who is Isa Torunn?

So who does Isa Torunn, the main character in Windows in the Loft, remind me of? Well, she is every kid who ever had to face hardship in life, and ended up making the decision to overcome it and to live fully, reaching for the heart dreams that others said she would never see come true. Isa reminds me of each of you who have had the courage to go on, even when it felt like no one was on your team. I know you will be inspired by her story.

Even in the midst of drought, where the pastures are brown, God gives us a little splash of color in the flowering cactus. Hope. In Isa’s life, she found many moments to hold on to and give her hope. Her story, Windows in the Loft, will give hope and courage to those who need it so desperately in their lives.
